Celebrating 35 years of excellence with The Lydians!

Dear Friends in Music!

2014 is upon us and The Lydians with the generous sponsorship of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago look forward to inviting you to celebrate our 35th anniversary in the New Year! 

Already, we have begun to plan a season of activities which is shaping up to include the most fun you will -ever- have on the upcoming Carnival Boat Ride "Handle It", something special from the Lydian Steel Ensemble in concert, a long-overdue feature of four budding soloists and possibly another major work by the choir!

Christmas 2014 is also in the works (already!) with an exciting line-up of debut music. For more updates and information on the joyful celebration of 35 years in music, stay tuned to this page! The Lydians Christmas concert comes to TV6!

The Lydians Christmas concert comes to TV6!

"Seasons of Love" performed by a small section of Lydians

After a successful run of concerts at the Queen's Hall auditorium from the 12th to 15th December, the Lydians' "Christmas - A Season of Love" will be broadcast on TV6 this Thursday 19th December and again on Christmas Eve 24th December 2013 on CCN TV6!

On these two evenings, the Lydians live performances will incorporate a variety of traditional Christmas carols, Jazz, Classical music, Steelpan, African and Tassa Drums, Dancing, Parang and spectacular set design pieces, which will be beamed via television into thousands of households across the nation.

Confirmed air dates and times on TV6:
Thursday 19th December 2013 - 8:00 pm to 10 pm
Tuesday 24th December 2013 - 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.

The theme of hearts in the concert will take the audience through four musical transitions - ‘The Broken Heart' representing the troubled but lifted spirit of those who may have faced challenges in 2013; The Holy Heart which will be a tribute to the mother of Christ, the Holy Mary; The Festive Heart will be a 100% ‘Trini’ Christmas segment; and the finale, The Joyful Heart, will be the joyous expression of Love at Christmas time!

Other featured creative collaborators will include the musical duo, Freetown Collective, comprising Lou Lyons and Muhammad Muwakil and the students of the QRC Chorale. Weekend tickets Sold Out!

Hello everyone, this is a notice to confirm that tickets for this weekend's concerts, Christmas - A Season of Love by The Lydians are sold out. For our die hard fans, people may return tickets tonight and Sunday night at the door/box office, so you may wish to try later this evening and Sunday.
