Farewell on onward to a new rehearsal venue!
A Farewell...
On Friday 12th July 2019, the Lydians marked our last rehearsal and said an official 'adieu' to the Jubilee Hall at Bishop Anstey High School (BAHS) - that wonderful space that has sheltered us for 40 years since our founding as a choir by BAHS Music teacher Mrs. Joyce Rawlins Spence!
We danced, laughed, shared *many* great rehearsal stories, sang for the last time in the acoustic and celebrated every moment we have shared music, in what has been, for all of us performers - our musical home. We manifested our gratitude for having been accommodated in this space and planted a joyful seed that we would be permitted to return on completion of the restoration works.
As always, we express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the all the past Principals, current Principal and Staff of BAHS!
The choir was informed that renovations on the hall are scheduled to begin during this July/August vacation, which will take a considerable time. As such, the Lydians will be required to relocate to a new rehearsal venue. This will be a major change for us and we have been warmly welcomed by the management of the Christian Science Church, 52 Richmond Street, Port of Spain.
We look forward to reconvening as a choir and Steel ensemble on Monday 5th August 2019 in preparation for our upcoming performance at CARIFESTA XIV.
